MIRACLE’s use case plans standard

MIRACLE is about data models, interoperable classification information and electronic labels. As these topics are quite abstract and difficult to visualize the MIRACLE project consortium decided to put some extra effort in specific fields of practical implementation in 2015. With the use cases we plan to show how MIRACLE can be applied in specific media contexts, what can be achieved with interoperable age labels - and what the added value for companies and for end-users looks like accordingly. These are the four areas where we plan to show use cases: 1 - Labelling the open web: age.xml (Self-)Labelling websites in the open web with a common electronic label format is crucial when it comes to the effectiveness of all forms of parental control software. Labelling websites and domains with age.xml (resp. age-de.xml, ...

First glance at MIRACLE alpha demos standard

On 21st Jan 2015 the first presentation of MIRACLE-compatible APIs and services took place during an internal project meeting of all MIRACLE partners. While there is still a long way to go to finally have interoperable schemes, labels and interfaces, the project team already felt the significance of this first step: This has been the first day in history to actually get technically interoperable age classification data stemming from four different classification schemes and contexts. During the upcoming weeks, the alpha demos will become beta (and better) ones. Stay in touch with the MIRACLE project as we plan to provide public access to all APIs and frontend to have everyone play around with the services and the data ...

How to implement MIRACLE? Implementation Strategy Reports published standard

While it might look easy to develop a common data model for age labels, things are getting more serious when it comes to implementing such a specification as MIRACLE in your existing data infrastructure and services. Five partners of the MIRACLE consortium currently have the task of implementing MIRACLE. To document the decision-making progress as well as the context factors of each system they were asked to provide Implementation Strategy Reports. The reports from BBFC, NICAM, PEGI, FSM and NCBI are now finalized and provide a look into potential implementation approaches in great detail. Have fun reading! BBFC_MIRACLE-ImplementationStrategyReport FSM_MIRACLE-ImplementationStrategyReport NCBI_MIRACLE-ImplementationStrategyReport NICAM_MIRACLE-ImplementationStrategyReport PEGI_MIRACLE-ImplementationStrategyReport (17th Jan 2015: Updated versions of the reports from PEGI and NCBI.) MIRACLE version 1.0 published standard

The MIRACLE project partners are happy to announce that version 1.0 of MIRACLE's data model has been published as of today. This will serve as the specification that currently gets implemented in five different age classification contexts and will be basis for applications that are able to process MIRACLE data. During the last weeks, we worked in all comments received during the public consultation and extended the scope aspects of the specification significantly. We tried to think of all relevant future aspects at this point in time already, to have a future-proof model with version 1.0 already. However, several iterative steps are planned to optimise this version when and where needed. So we appreciate all comments from the perspective of experts ...

Public consultation has ended: On the way to v1.0 standard

On Wednesday, 23dr July 2014, the public consultation concerning the draft MIRACLE specification has ended. The consortium partners will now discuss the constructive comments and inputs from third parties and amend the specification accordingly in order to start the implementation on grounds of a MIRACLE Version 1.0. We would like to thank all external parties that put their effort in checking the specification and in writing or telling us their remarks. This helps a lot in improving the MIRACLE data model! And, since we use an iterative process to optimize the specification, please don't hesitate to contact us with ideas, comments and tips throughout the ...

MIRACLE specification: Public consultation running standard

To consider views and comments from data and metadata experts as well as industry players in the field of age classification, the MIRACLE consortium conducts a public consultation on version 0.93 of the MIRACLE specification. The consultation has started on 25 June 2014 and runs for 4 weeks. You will find all relevant documents both on the MIRACLE website and on the W3C community group site. All interested stakeholders are invited to comment on the proposed specification.  Right after the end of the consultation phase, the project members will discuss all comments received. If comments result in changes of the data model, we will publish the respective version 1.0 shortly after. Feel free to dive into the proposal and don’t hesitate to comment on the specification. ...
